The palace here was built by Maharaja Shakti Singh, the younger brother of Maharana Pratap in 1578, and has been added to by successive generations, the most recent being in 1902. The large palace has delicate jharokhas from which one can look out at the countryside, and the rooms are embellished with paintings of family members, and a collection of arms. The main attractions are the Sitamata wild life sanctuary and Jai Samand lake, the largest man-made lake in the region
